As foreseen in the Service Contract, drawn up with the City Council of Milan, ATM manages and takes care of the expansion of public transport in all its types.

Since January 1st 1999, with common deliberation, ATM has assumed the name Azienda Trasporti Milanesi, while on January 3rd 2001 it became a Company by Shares.

The following year the company adopted the divisional organisational chart, which enabled a more rational resources distribution and a clearer definition of the process responsibility.

The 1st of January 2007 ATMServizi was born
through the hiving off from the head office of the public transport service management.

ATMServizi, whose principal aim is the continual improvement of services offered to the public, is the largest company in the ATM SpA group.
